What inspired the name?
There is more to the humble pear than meets the eye. In ancient China, people believed that pears represented immortality and prosperity because pear trees live for a long time. The pear tree has been honored as a sacred tree which symbolizes prosperity, good health, and happiness. In many cultures spanning thousands of years, we can find references to pear as a symbol of sustenance, abundance, and longevity.
